The link will be sent to all registered parents a few days prior to the orientation meeting. This meeting is followed by an in-person campus tour at 1:30pm that same day.

Tuition covers it all. Registering your child for a full-day World Camp program will give you access to the following services at no extra cost:

• Lunch daily
• Snacks twice a day
• Access to before camp from 8am to 9am
• Access to after camp from 3:30pm to 5:30pm
• 1 free World Camp t-shirt

Lunches are included in the cost of the camp, and they are provided during all 9 weeks of language immersion camps by HandCut Foods catering, the hot lunch provider for Lycée Français de Chicago. Individual lunch boxes are served daily, Monday through Thursday. Every Friday for beach day, BBQ food is served at the beach. Vegeterian, Vegan and Gluten free menu options are available upon request.

HandCut Foods is committed to delivering the freshest, highest-quality products to our camp. Lunches proposed during summer are nuts-free and pork-free, and are made from scratch with whole ingredients. Contact: lycee@handcutfoods.com

Snacks are provided at 10:00am in the morning, and at 3:00pm in the afternoon. All snacks are nut-free, and snacks are provided for all camps during the entire summer.

Students registered in full day camps traditionally go on a field trip every Tuesday, and attend a beach day every Friday. Exceptionally this year, field trip day will be moved to Wednesdays during session 1 only.

Students registered for a three-week session usually go to a water park, a museum and an outdoor space such as a botanic garden or a farm. 

Transportation to all Tuesday and Friday field trips takes place using Yellow School Buses. The bus company that we are using is called TWF Transportation.

Students registered in the Investigative Learning camps (11-15yrs old) will also take public transportation with their teachers.

There is just one camp per session to register for Arabic, German, Italian and Mandarin camps. Depending on the number of registrations, campers are then separated by age groups. French camps offer registration options with a pre-registration by age: Camp Decouvertes (4-5 yrs old), Les Explorateurs (6-7 yrs old), Les Aventuriers (8-9 & 10-11), Investigative Learning Camps (11-15 yrs old), High-school French (15-17).

We calculate the age eligibility of our campers based on their age as of December 31st of the year of the camp.

To attend camp, campers must meet the age requirements for their camp. Younger campers must also be potty trained; Use of diapers or pull-ups is not authorized at camp. 

Our language immersion camps offer a ratio of 1 adult per 4 to 6 kids.

• Camps are supervised by experienced teachers and educators who work closely with camp counselors to ensure constant supervision of all students.
• CPR/First Aid certification classes are offered to our staff in June.
• All camp supervisors and camp counselors attend pre-camp training and receive a Summer camp guide for staff with all our safety policies (Covid protocols, fire alarm, allergies, lockdown procedures, etc.).
• These policies are reminded before the start of each new session in an all-staff meeting run by the camp director.

Yes. Lycée Francais' full-time Registered Nurse will be on campus for at least two of our three camp sessions. World Camp registered families who would like to discuss their child's health situation are encouraged to contact our school nurse early at healthoffice@lyceechicago.org so that Individual Action Plans and detailed protocols can be established and communicated to teachers if necessary ahead of your child's camp session. Please write "World Camp" in the subject line.   

This 40+ pages document is sent to parents at the end of May, just before the pre-camp orientation meeting that takes place in early June. You will find in this document all you need to know about field trips, pick-up and drop-off procedures, safety and water safety measures, lunch menu, emergency contact information, communication, access to our app, what to bring at camp, etc. We basically put in one place all the information that you may ever need to know about camp. Once published in late May, you can access this document at all times from your LFC World App.
